IDS Project Annual Conference for 2019

(July 25 through July 26)

Utica College

The IDS Project's 15th Annual Summer Conference is Thursday, July 25th and Friday, July 26th at the Utica College in Utica, NY. This year's conference theme is All Systems Go: Improving systems and workflows and approximately 120 attendees are expected.

The conference is packed with information and training regarding exciting new technologies and strategies for information access, resource sharing, and library management systems. Session tracks include ILL/DD, Technology, and Library Management Systems. You can choose to follow an entire track or choose individual sessions from across each track. All library staff are encouraged to attend regardless of affiliation with IDS Project.

Our keynote speaker is Jill Morris, one of this year's Notable Women of Library and Information Science!

Jill Morris is the Executive Director of the PALCI Consortium (Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc.), made up of 69 academic and research libraries in PA, NY, NJ, and WV. For more than ten years, Jill has enjoyed working for large library consortia where her primary responsibilities have centered around collaborative program design and eResource licensing and negotiations. Jill became PALCI's Executive Director in January 2019, after previously serving as the organization's Senior Program Officer and Associate Director. At PALCI she leads and supports collections activities, affordable education programs, PA Digital, the Pennsylvania hub of the DPLA, and the E-ZBorrow service, an unmediated interlibrary loan program that serves 50+ institutions across the region. Prior to her time at PALCI, Jill was the Assistant Director and Interim Executive Director of the statewide NC LIVE consortium, supporting 200 public and academic libraries in North Carolina. Jill currently leads a number of cross-consortial open source projects, including the CC-PLUS initiative, funded by IMLS, to build a platform for the harvest, display and analysis of consortium eResource usage statistics. Jill received her MSLS from UNC Chapel Hill and holds a BA in History and Adolescent Education from SUNY Geneseo.
